While many of our gems are completely unheated, in rare cases where enhancement is required, Rathnapura’s traditional heating methods stand out as a world apart.

A small open flame, hand-blown using a manual pipe, is used to gently heat individual stones — one at a time — in carefully controlled conditions, powered solely by experience and intuition.
